Each year Aldine provides a time for teachers to be recognized and this year we want to celebrate our winners!
There are three categories that a teacher can be awarded for including the following:
Campus Teacher of the Year
First, we have Teacher of the Year, this is a teacher who is selected by the entire campus to represent their outstanding work and effort throughout the year. This teacher represents the school academically, socially emotionally, and more. This teacher upholds the school’s vision and mission daily. The school selected 3 nominees and in the end, our Teacher of the Year was Mrs. Roa our Kindergarten teacher in room 306! She is an excellent example for her peers and her students. She leads side by side with her team members and is helpful to many around the campus. Thank you for your commitment to de Santiago and all your hard work!
HAABSE Teacher of the Year
Next, we have our HAABSE Teacher of the Year, this award is granted to one teacher who is recognized by the leadership team for all their hard work and dedication. We have a multitude of teachers who display these characteristics, but only one could stand out. We considered the daily work, the team support, and the unwavering love that is given to all. We present this award to Mrs. Fields our Pre-kindergarten teacher in room 212! Mrs. Field’s has given her service to teaching and she sparks a fire in all her students. There is never a moment when we don’t see her students happy and engaged. She helps anyone in need and represents the true meaning and spirit of being an educator!
SHABE Teacher of the Year
Our last award is given to two recipients. One recipient is nominated to represent the ESL Teacher of the Year and another teacher is selected to represent the Bilingual Teacher of the Year. These teachers are selected by their peers and recognized for the above-and-beyond efforts they give to provide an academic environment that supports students’ native language while teaching English as well. Our bilingual and ESL team is amazing, all while being inclusive.
ESL Teacher of the Year
This year’s ESL Teacher of the Year award is given to Ms. Brown our Kindergarten teacher in room 402! Ms. Brown is a new addition to de Santiago and she has worked tirelessly with her team for their students. She always has a smile and gives help in every way possible. There is no limit to her achievements. Thank you for your service to our students and our team.
Bilingual Teacher of the Year
Lastly, we have our Bilingual Teacher of the Year, this award is presented to Ms. Marin our Kindergarten teacher in room 408! Ms. Marin is an incredible teacher who came to Aldine with origins from Spain. She came into teaching and discovered a home here at de Santiago. She is a truly kind person who shows passion for her teaching. She receives all her students with a smile and spreads that contagious spirit to everyone.
